We were established in 1988 as a grassroots initiative to provide support to people in the community through one-to-one counselling, courses and workshops and were approved as a BACP Accredited Service in February 2006.

Our mission is to promote social inclusion by supporting and empowering people to take positive control of their lives through the provision of counselling, courses and workshops.

The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award 2003

The centre was honoured to be selected for this award in 2003. We were nominated by a client and were delighted when the Queen’s representatives advised us that we were one of the 200 voluntary groups in the country to receive this new award. Recognition of our work in our local community is especially welcome when it is from such a prestigious source and was initiated by a client.

PQASSO

We always strive for excellence and so worked towards and achieved completion of the PQASSO quality assurance system. PQASSO is the Charities Evaluation Service’s practical quality assurance system for small/medium organisations, viewed by some as the voluntary and community sector’s ‘industry standard’.
